The girls are enjoying their new peaceful, lush, and green surroundings at our new home, one of the oldest haciendas in Ecuador, and are getting oriented to the TTS program and their new community of peers and teachers. After a day of classes, the girls kicked off the weekend with a hike in the hills above our hacienda and took in a bird's eye view of the area. They returned to the hostel for a class in personal safety and self-defense and then sat down to a lovely dinner of tomato soup with popcorn sprinkled in it (a local favorite), fish, potatoes, and vegetables. The whole group is now gathered around an enormous bonfire in the courtyard and are looking forward to paying a visit to the equator tomorrow!
